Watchmaker repairer, specialized in antique watchmaking
close to Tours
Your clock no longer works? Should a service or restoration be carried out? The Rousselot Horlogerie workshop puts its skills at the service of your clock. Clocks from France or elsewhere, from the 17th or 20th century, Marion Rousselot repairs all your clocks.
Promoting watchmaking heritage
The values of the workshop are: the global approach and the technical, historical and aesthetic respect of pendulums and clocks.
Marion Rousselot offers a complete service . The workshop repairs the movement but takes care of the pendulums from the hands to the case, via the dial. Always with the idea of having a global vision and restoring the clock in the most coherent and respectful way possible .
The objects are thus studied as a whole. A clock is made by several craftsmen and certain specialties are not theirs. Glass, ceramics or marble, for example, are processed by other craftsmen. This makes it possible to make the link between these different specialties and to do the best for the object. This functioning is truly fundamental for Marion Rousselot.
This vision requires us to study the clock through its three aspects: technical, historical and aesthetic . All three must be considered and treated interdependently. With the aim of restoring objects as close as possible to their original state and as respectfully as possible , of the original styles and materials.
“Watchmaking is metal that dances”

The watchmaker's expertise
This objective of valorization through the global approach,
Marion Rousselot saw it come to fruition thanks to her journey .
It was in art history that Marion Rousselot discovered ancient watchmaking and decided to study it. She then completed a master's degree, with a research focus , on the subject of watches worn from 1789 to 1815. But the need to master the technique arrived very quickly during her studies.
Following her training as a watchmaker , she worked at Chayette & Cheval / Charlotte van Gaver, an auctioneer's firm specializing in antique watchmaking . Marion Rousselot discovered the world of the art market and the profession of expert .
There she learned to look at objects , understand their manufacture, their finish, their defects and their quality.
To gain expertise in ancient watchmaking , you must master both aesthetics and technique.
Marion Rousselot then opened her workshop and worked with different watchmakers such as Jean-Baptiste VIOT. Above all, she works in close collaboration with Jacques NEVE , watchmaker restorer, before to permanently install
his workshop in Indre-et-Loire, in Vouvray, in 2021.
She also works in collaboration with Ryma HATAHET , heritage restorer, whose ethics (ICOM) complement her profession as a traditional watchmaker.

You have a floor clock, a mantel clock, a cartel, an alcove cartel, a nun, a regulator, a skeleton clock, nasturtiums, a so-called “bull's eye” clock, a comtoise clock, a terminal clock, a column clock or a decorative clock with gilded or patinated bronzes, etc. Marion Rousselot takes care of your pendulum with strict respect for styles and their history.
The pendulums with
all exhausts
The pendulums with
all the complications
. A watch complication is a function other than displaying the hours and minutes. The most common complications in clocks are: everything that is striking, hour striking, quarter striking, chimes, date and moon phase. Other rarer complications: complete calendar (date, days of the week, indication of months and phase of the moon), it can be perpetual therefore automatically switching from the 30th to the 1st of each month and leap years. But they may also have indicated the equation of time or have an equality winder, etc.

The watchmaker's profession also involves working with metal. Everything that involves working with materials: filing, drilling, machining, welding, manufacturing of parts, working with brass, working with steel.
The watchmaker also replaces lost or damaged elements and takes over old restorations if necessary.
The workshop is thus equipped with industrial tools such as watchmaker's lathes, a Schaublin 70 lathe, a column drill, etc., necessary for watchmaking restoration.
